Supervised hour within the framework of SDG-3 with the topic “Compliance with traffic rules”

A curatorial hour held within the framework of SDG-3 (Sustainable Development Goals-3) with the topic “Compliance with traffic rules” took place on October 05, 2023 and was organized for 1st year students of the department of the Turkic Faculty of Oriental Studies. The main purpose of this event was to remind and discuss the rules of the road, including the rules for using electric scooters, speed limits and road safety measures. There was also an emphasis on caution when moving around the university grounds, especially when crossing main streets.

This initiative was updated after the tragic incident that occurred in the city of Almaty on October 4, 2023, when a teenager died in an accident. Such incidents highlight the importance of following traffic rules and road safety.

During the curator's hour, students were presented with the following topics:

• Rules of the Road: Discussion of the basic rules and regulations that must be followed while driving on the roads.

• Electric Scooters: Instructions for the safe use of electric scooters, including parking rules and speed limits.

• Speed Limit: The importance of following speed limits and the consequences of speeding.

• Safety Rules: Discusses important safety precautions such as the use of seat belts, helmets and other safety equipment.

• Caution on campus: Rules for moving around the campus, especially near main roads and intersections.

This curated hour helped students understand the importance of following traffic rules and road safety, as well as raising public consciousness about the problems associated with road accidents and the need to prevent them.
