Magnificent Turkey and its culture
Another cultural event characterized the past week. On 19th of October at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Turksoy Department hosted a round table dedicated to the art and culture of Turkey.
4th year students made presentations on the development of the culture of Turkey and its people at different stages of its development. The early Ottoman culture and its features aroused deep interest among our participants and guests of the event, heated discussions were generated by a report on the influence of Byzantine art on Turkish culture, many opinions were expressed regarding the problems of unity and diversity of cultures during the round table. The participants highlighted the main trends in the development of modern Turkish culture, the development of theatrical creativity, architecture, and art. The atmosphere of a harmonious historical blend reigned at the event where the facts of the past intertwined with the present reality, where fragments of Byzantine culture found a place in the life of Turkey and its people of wadays, with the religion invariably leaving its mark on the way of life and creativity of the nation for centuries.
The round table participants were leading experts, associate professors and doctors. The department of Turksoy has always been remarkable for conducting various educational and cultural programs, students and teachers work harmoniously and each event is held at a high, high-quality level, this event was no exception
