On November 9-10, 2017, the XIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Technological aspects of modern agricultural production and environmental protection” was held in the Scientific Library “al-Farabi”. The conference is organized by the Department of chemistry and technology of organic substances, natural compounds and polymers of al-Farabi KazNU, the Agency for the Transfer of Technology, Education and Science daRostim (Germany) and the Institute of Applied Biotechnology (Germany). More than 50 leading scientists from Germany, Russia and Kazakhstan took part in the conference. Plenary presentations were made by the general director of the Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry A.Saparov, the general director of the Kazakh Institute of Plant Protection and Quarantine A.​​Sagitov, the director of the Institute of Applied Biotechnology V.Novik, the general director of the Kazakh Research Institute of Potato and Vegetable Growing T. Aitbaev, etc. The main attention at the conference is given to the issues of studying phytohormones, humic substances and other biologically active compounds and their role in natural ecosystems, the development of biotechnology in agricultural production for the protection of the environment.
