Is able to apply knowledge of history, evolution, modern theoretical concepts, fundamental bases and methodology of geodesy, cartography, aerospace sounding and Geoinformatics in scientific research activity; Defines and realizes tasks on creation of the software and programming of the decision of cartographic and geodetic, cartographic and geoinformation tasks, the automated processing of data of remote sensing;

Identifies and formulates problems, tasks of scientific research; referees scientific works, makes analytical reviews of information and data, methods and technologies accumulated in the world science and practice; receives new reliable results on the basis of geoinformation mapping and modeling with the involvement of a wide range of spatial information;

Develops methods, techniques, technologies of collection, processing, analysis, integration and transformation, transfer of geodetic, topographic, navigation, aerospace, thematic data; creates databases and data banks and knowledge bases, including for the formation of spatial data infrastructure in the course of solving research problems;

Sets tasks, organizes, carries out and controls high-tech geographic information work on the creation of new, unique databases and data banks, geographic information systems (including navigation and cadastral), multidimensional models of different territorial coverage, purpose and content using modern software and hardware, diverse spatial information, including obtained by remote sensing methods,as well as spatial data infrastructure, new software;
