KAZNU ESTABLISHED COOPERATION WITH ZTE CORPORATION

Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with a delegation of ZTE Corporation headed by CEO of ZTE Business Development in the CIS countries Wei Wei. The parties discussed further cooperation in the field of digital transformation and expressed their willingness to work out directions for the development of innovative technologies.

 

Welcoming the honored guests in the walls of the higher educational institution, the head of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev told about the fruitful cooperation of KazNU with well-known world companies. "The university successfully operates certification centers, institutes, academies of high-tech companies such as: Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Konica Minolta, Fujitsu, Alcatel, Microsoft, Kaspersky Lab, Huawei, etc. In this regard, a number of activities were carried out with these leading companies, which positively influenced the development of education and advanced training of teaching staff. For example, since 2015 by order of Samsung Electronics, courses have been developed and implemented by professors of KazNU such as: development of mobile applications, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, machine learning. In addition, our staff and students have developed and launched projects on Smart technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence and educational laboratory stands," said the rector of the university. In conclusion of his speech, the rector noted that he was interested in implementing various educational programs and scientific and innovative projects, and was also ready to support all initiatives aimed at fruitful cooperation in the field of digital transformation.

 

In turn, the CEO of ZTE Business Development in the CIS countries, Wei Wei, gave full information about ZTE Corporation and voiced his proposals. "ZTE is the world's leading supplier of telecommunications equipment and mobile phones. ZTE Corporation was founded in 1985 in Shenzhen, China. Today in many countries of the world there are many representative offices and research centers of ZTE, which employ tens of thousands of people. The company supplies equipment and services to 140 countries and regions, serving more than 500 telecom operators in the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the CIS. ZTE pays special attention to innovation, research and development, which accounts for 10% of ZTE's annual profit. There are 18 research centers around the world, each of which has its own specialization," Wei Wei said.

At the end of the meeting, the General Director for Business Development of ZTE in the CIS countries noted that mutually beneficial cooperation would be an important step and expressed readiness to further intensify work on joint projects.
