The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a scientific conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the famous Turkologist, a prominent representative of Kazakh linguistics, Professor Zhanuzak Telgozha, organized by the International Turkic Academy. Within the framework of the event, a presentation of the 5-volume work of the scientist "Kazakh Onomastics" took place.

The President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali in his speech revealed the essence and significance of the scientific work of the famous scientist.

In his speech, the head of the organization noted that the catch phrase "The names of terrestrial and water geographic objects are letters of history" is devoted to the deep content of the fundamental scientific works of the master of linguistics Telgorz Zhanuzak. As one of the founders of Russian onomastic science, he made a great contribution to the development of this industry as a separate discipline. "

During the meeting and. about. Vice-rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi for Social Development Aliya Masalimova congratulated the scientist on his anniversary and presented a special prize. She noted that the laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shokan Ualikhanov, academician of the Academy of Humanities of the Republic of Kazakhstan Telgozha Seidinuly has formed a fundamental school in linguistics.

Prominent public figures and intellectuals of the nation, such as the famous Abaeologist Mekemtas Myrzakhmetov, director of the Institute of Literature and Art named after A. M. Auezova Kenzhekhan Matyzhanov, Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after M. Sh. Ualikhanova Ziyabek Kabuldinov, Director of the Institute of Linguistics. A. Baitursynova Anar Fazylzhanova,  director of the Abai research institute at KazNU Zhangara Dadebaev.

It was also noted that the outstanding scientist conducted in-depth research in such fields of science as: lexicology, lexicography, terminology, onomastics, spelling, folklore and the art of translation, having written about 500 works. At the end of the event, the hero of the day thanked all those present for the kind words and expressed his heartfelt gratitude.

By the way, the scientist in 1989 sent a letter to the highest government agencies and raised the issue of creating the State Onomastic Commission. 1990-1998 he was a scientific secretary, in 1999-2003. - a member of this commission, did a great job on a voluntary basis. The fundamental works of Telgorz Zhanuzak are in demand today by the society, many research works have become a valuable tool that serves national interests and is widely used in passport authorities and civil registration offices.
