Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has introduced a discipline «Inclusive Education» in all pedagogical specialties of the University. The purpose of the discipline is to build the ability of specialists to apply modern strategies and methods of inclusive education.

In the course of learning the course, the student must study the general, specific patterns and individual characteristics of the mental and psychophysiological development of people with disabilities, describe the existing models of inclusive education, and the legal framework for education, and many others.

It should be noted that the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management of KazNU has gained some experience in preparing future social educators in the formation of their professional competencies for social and pedagogical work and in the system of inclusive education.

What should be the teacher of inclusive education? What personal and professional qualities should he/or she have in order to successfully work in conditions of inclusion? How to implement their social and educational activities in inclusive practice? A search for these questions led the scientists of the Department to develop an educational program for opening a new specialty in the new academic year - «Modern Technologies in the Context of Inclusive Education».

The implementation of the educational program is aimed at developing specialists who are able to interpret and summarize the deep modern knowledge of the latest concepts in the field of inclusive education.

The formation of the competencies of specialists in the field of inclusive education is facilitated by the study by graduate students of such disciplines as: «Social therapy in an inclusive space», «International experience in preparing for the implementation of inclusive education», «Rehabilitation work in inclusive education», «Diagnosis and clinical research in inclusive education», «Learning strategies in an inclusive environment», «Innovative technologies in preparation for inclusive education», etc.

The educational process in this specialty is provided by leading scientists of the Department: Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Acting Professor A.B. Mukasheva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A.S. Maugova, Ph.D., and Professor G.A. Kassen, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.Sh. Baktybaev, Phd P.T. Abdullaev and others.
