More than six thousand students of KazNU, who were schoolchildren yesterday, joined a large youth community. On October 17, a large-scale festive performance - initiation into students took place on the territory of Al-Farabi Square. The first course students have been accepted into the ranks of the student community of the country's most prestigious University.

In the new academic year, over 6000 thousand of the most talented graduates from different regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries entered the first year of KazNU. Of these, 5764 are holders of state grants, 500 winners of international and Republican competitions, 1018 holders of the Altyn Belgi mark and 1,200 foreign students.

Initiation to students of KazNU was the first official event for yesterday's school graduates, which obliges everyone to be responsible not only for their words and deeds, but also for their friend from among the many thousands of University youth community.

Opening the solemn part of the event, the organizers noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is included in the list of Universities that make up 1% of the best universities in the world, and more than five thousand qualified personnel annually graduates from it.

As the first-year students themselves said, they were looking forward to this holiday with special excitement, and their expectations and ideas about the bright holiday were finally justified. More than six thousand students have been preparing for it for more than a month. Many of them were not only spectators, but also acted as participants in concert performances.

During the event, students performed the hymn of the students of Gaudeamus and took an oath.

Congratulating all students and their parents, Rector of KazNU, Galym Mutanov, noted the achievements and goals of the research University, while emphasizing the great responsibility of students who are officially participating in the University’s public life for the first time.

The culmination of the holiday was the solemn presentation of the ID-card by Rector Galym Mutanov for the first-year student of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology Yernur Zhanbyrbaev and student of the Faculty of Information Technology Magzhan Dat. In addition, the best students of the Faculties of Journalism and Oriental Studies - Akbota Akhmetova and Nazerke Tilektes were invited to the stage to present the key of knowledge.

At such a solemn moment, multi-colored fireworks were launched into the autumn sky, which caused a thunder of applause of students. Theatrical compositions such as «Greencampus», «Salauatti dene madenieti», «Art Center», «KMO», «Smart City» and many others were presented to the audience and students. At the end of the event, the first-year students performed the student dance Waltz-Modern and the final song «Zhasay ber KazUyim».

The teachers and leadership of KazNU wholeheartedly congratulate all freshmen and wish to receive great knowledge and achieve academic success at the University.
