Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU, academician Galym Mutanov commented on the decision of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on holding early elections of the President of Kazakhstan.

«The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has taken a very important and necessary decision for the whole Kazakhstani society on the appointment of early elections», - highlighted Rector of KazNU, Galym Mutanov.

– There is no doubt that the current President has an absolute vote of public confidence, which is evidenced by the support of Elbasy and the results of opinion polls.

«Kazakhstan is a democratic state. The process of electing the President by the people is important in order to bring a dynamic impetus into the all state, socio-economic and socio-political transformations for the effective and successful implementation of the Elbasy’s strategy», - considers the Rector. This will strengthen the constitutional mechanisms for implementation of the main vectors of domestic and foreign policy, and it will have a positive impact on the political situation in the country, stability and consolidation of society. It will strengthen the authority of Kazakhstan in the eyes of the world community as a state, which clearly follows the course of democratic reforms.

– Today, the key issue of the political agenda has found its solution – the terms and procedure for the election of the President have been determined. I am confident that the early elections will be held in accordance with all the requirements of the Constitution in a fair, transparent and equitable way. The necessary political institutions and civil society have been created in Kazakhstan, as well as the country has a positive experience in the electoral process. The task of the Kazakhstani people is to fulfill their civic duty and choose a worthy candidate, - noted Galym Mutanov.
