To mark the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of Defender of the Fatherland, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov awarded the certificate of merit to the Head of the Military Department of NAO "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University" Reserve Colonel Oleg Azhimov.
The Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting with representatives of "Tengizchevroil", as a result of which the parties agreed on cooperation, joint development of educational programmes and textbooks.

The President was presented with the results of the year's work and plans for the further development of the university. The KazNU Rector briefed the Head of State on the progress of the educational process, scientific research and international achievements of the university's scientists.
The International Conference «Mir E. R. Tenishev: Life in Science» is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist started at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Professors, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR E.R. Tenisheva.
Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the conference "Way of the Architect - Dignity of Achievements". The event was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shot-Aman Idrisovich Valikhanov, an outstanding architect, public figure, and author of the emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Monument of Independence.

Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted the screening of the full-length science documentary "Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbaev: Project of the Century" dedicated to the social and political activity of a prominent figure of Alash, the first railway engineer of Kazakh origin, Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbaev.
