Embassy of Kazakhstan in Saudi Arabia together with the Center for Islamic Studies named after King Faisal, with the support of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an international conference on the topic "The contribution of Abu Nasr al-Farabi to the development of human civilization." The conference was organized and held within the framework of large-scale anniversary scientific and practical events planned in honor of the great philosopher of civilizations Abu Nasr al-Farabi.

The first international scientific and environmental forum «Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources» was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the online mode, where ways to solve the main problems of environmental protection were discussed, scientific and practical recommendations for ensuring Sustainable Development were presented.

The Department of Business technologies of the higher school OF Economics and Bussines of al-Farabi KazNU held the V International student correspondence Olympiad on the topic: «DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES in MARKETING» on the speciality «Marketing».

December 9, 2020 from 14.00-15.50 on the basis of the Cheir of International Relations and World Economy of Faculty of International relations Al-Farabi KazNU, through the Zoom platform, a lecture was held by Professor ESSEC Business School Asia Pacific in Singapore, Executive Director of MBA programs in the Asia-Pacific region, Professor of the week of "The Financial Times" Cedomir Nestorovic. Lecture topic: "Impact of US elections on business in Asia with a focus on US-China trade relationship".

The al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the "TILEU-QABAQ" public Foundation organized an online Republican scientific and practical conference: "the Place of Er Edige in the history of the Golden Horde", dedicated to the 750th anniversary of the formation of the Golden Horde.

The Council of Young Scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, jointly with the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, organized and conducted an online Republican competition of scientific projects for young scientists on the topic "My vision of resolving the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic".

As part of academic mobility, online lectures started at the Department of Fundamental Medicine. Professor Orhan Canbolat from the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry, Gazi University (Turkey), was one of the first to start this educational baton. Lectures are conducted online for 2nd year students of the specialty «General Medicine».

Doctoral student of the Department of Mechanics of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Naukenova Altynay became the winner of the competition "Scientific internships in the laboratories of the world" of the Program of scientific internships in the world laboratories - 2020 of the Shakhmardan Yessenov Science and Education Foundation.

An international online meeting of heads of higher education institutions was held at Al-Farabi KazNU, where the establishment of the «Eurasian Network of Universities in Support of Knowledge Culture without Borders» has been officially announced.

Department of «Business Technology» of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU in cooperation with universities of Russia and Kazakhstan held online international scientific and methodological conference «Digitalization of the economy and education: new technologies in the conditions of pandemic» in the framework of the international economic forum «Economic development of the region: management, innovation, training».
