On April 13, 2023, within the framework of the project "BR18574168" “The role of Kazakhstan in deepening the regional integration of the countries of Central Asia and the goal of sustainable development of the country in the framework of global trends of our time”, an international round table “China - Central Asia: key challenges and prospects for cooperation in the economic, social and security fields”.

The keynote speaker was Professor Shrikant Kondapalli, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. In his speech, the professor comprehensively covered China's relations with the countries of Central Asia, including economic, social aspects, security issues and the geopolitical situation in general.

Young scientists of the Department of International Relations and World Economy of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University also made presentations:

Alibek Ermekov, PhD 3rd year doctoral student “Institutionalization of Chinese Influence in Eurasia in the Context of Geopolitical Changes”;

Farangis Kydyrbek, KazNU MA student, Faculty of International Relations “The role of the Central Asian region in the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road";

Amina Amangeldinova-Taychikenova, 2nd year master's student: "China-India: economic interdependence as a basis for future cooperation."

The discussion covered issues of multilateral cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia in the face of new challenges along the perimeter of the entire region, including the situation around the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the situation in Afghanistan, as well as the activities of international organizations (SCO, SVDMA).
