Resource and Information Center on NATO

 

The first in Central Asia Resource and Information Center about NATO (RIC on NATO) was opened in 2006 at the Faculty of International Relations based on an agreement with the Department of Public Diplomacy of NATO.

The main functions of the NATO Resource and Information Center are:

• work with visitors;

• dissemination of information on cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO;

• dissemination of experience in organizing international cooperation;

• holding conferences, seminars and round tables on regional security issues;

• coordination and optimization of international scientific and educational activities in the field of preparation of joint international projects;

• holding "guest lectures" with the participation of NATO representatives and foreign professors;

• holding annual Summer Schools for students, undergraduates and young scientists;

• holding interuniversity student games “NATO Mini Model”;

• organizing the activities of the Students' Association “Young people are interested in NATO's work”.

Within the framework of the Center there is an information library, which has more than 500 titles of various informative literature on NATO activities, materials on cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and NATO in English, Kazakh and Russian.

The Center regularly hosts "round tables" and conferences with the participation of NATO representatives at various levels, faculty, students and undergraduates of Kazakhstani universities, related to the subject of cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO.

A very effective form of work is the organization of meetings and guest lectures by NATO representatives.
