Educational outcome

After the successful completion of this educational program, trainees will:

ON1 Teaching technical engineering and electric power engineering subjects in higher education Institutions;

ON2 Development of feasibility studies and business plans. Assessment of scientific, technical, economic and psychological potential of electric power projects;

ON3 Maintenance and repair of overhead and cable power lines, maintenance of substation equipment of electrical networks, commissioning and repair of electrical equipment of networks, stations and substations, maintenance of electrical equipment of infrastructure facilities in the oil and gas industry, industrial and civil construction, transport and telecommunications, production facilities;

ON4. Repair of electrical equipment and electrical machines of electrical and thermal stations, maintenance and repair of contact and district networks of electric transport, maintenance of auxiliary systems and instrumentation and automation of infrastructure in the oil and gas industry, industrial and civil construction, transport and telecommunications, production facilities;

Repair and maintenance of automation and measuring instruments of power plants;

ON7 Organization and operation of electrical equipment of a thermal power plant, forecast of electricity consumption and capacity, metrological support for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Audit of energy facilities, laboratory electrical measurements and tests of electricity quality, diagnostics of energy consumption. Development of the company's electricity quality system. Realization and sale of electric energy;

ON8 Calculation of parameters of electrical circuits, modeling of processes in power lines, calculation of electrophysical processes in electrical devices. Electrical installation of switchgears, checking the performance of equipment with the use of control and measuring devices. Preparation and installation of complex electrical connection diagrams;

ON9 Design and development of non-conventional energy facilities. Assessment of the environmental impact of renewable energy sources, efficiency of solar power plants, development of new technologies for solar, wind and hydrogen energy. Assessment of energy resources;

ON10 Maintenance of energy supply for residential and non-residential buildings. Installation and commissioning of solar power plants. Operation of battery equipment; development of layouts for Autonomous power supply installations;

ON11 Corrosion protection. Application of protective coatings. Developments in the field of surface engineering of materials and products. Application of electrophysical technologies for obtaining new materials, development of nanotechnologies;

ON12 Development of new technologies, materials and products for electric lighting, storage and conversion of electrical energy. Design of power converting devices, devices based on gas discharges, microwave and laser technology.

Academic activity

The academic activity of the OP is carried out:

- within the framework of existing regulatory documents and methodological recommendations in the field of higher education in the field of energy,

- as a result of the implementation of regulatory documents regulating the educational and methodological process at the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative legal acts concerning methodological work;

- current and prospective planning of the educational and methodological work of the university; coordination of the educational and methodological complex of the discipline (UMKD) of the department for compliance with regulatory legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- monitoring the provision of the educational process with teaching materials, documenting the results;

- development of teaching materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum

Scientific activity

Material base of EP:

To implement the educational program, the faculty has laboratories: electrical engineering and electronics, high-voltage equipment, plasma and gas discharge installations, non-traditional and alternative energy sources, computer physics and mathematical modeling, and a computer class.

For the implementation of the educational program at the faculty there are laboratories:

Scientific directions of the department of plasma physics, nanotechnology and computer physics:

-            scientific school Intellectual management of electric power systems

-            remote methods (technologies) of studying alternative energy on the example of remote access to the results of research on power plants TOKAMAK-10.

-            theoretical and experimental studies of dusty plasma, the creation of new models of such a plasma, the creation of new technologies based on dusty plasma.

-            application research: plasma technologies; their research and development

-            Organization of small-scale production of energy-saving gas-discharge lamps with increased intensity of illumination based on new technology

-            Development of technologies for producing nanostructured oxide semiconductors for a wide range of applications

-            Development of methods for the synthesis of nanostructured materials with luminescent properties.

-            Interrelation of nonlinear electrical, optical and fractal-geometric characteristics of nanostructured semiconductors.

-            Production of nanomaterials by pulsed plasma spraying and their use in production.

-            Development of technology for producing nano- and microglyn from montmorillonite.

-            Production of nanostructured composite materials based on titanium dioxide films and metal nanoparticles and the study of their structure and electronic properties.

International activity

Academic mobility: This program is unique in that undergraduates have the opportunity to take courses and conduct joint research in partner universities of al-Farabi KazNU in the framework of the mainstream power industry, including research areas "Electrophysics of high voltages and high voltage energy" - partner Moscow power engineering Institute, "Physics of electric discharges and plasma technology" of partner Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, "alternative and renewable energy" partner of the University of Nantes (France), "Computer methods and modeling in electric power" - pretner University of Valencia (Spain) , etc.

This educational program was based on the analysis of similar programs of leading foreign educational organizations, where special attention is paid to information, microprocessor, nano technologies in the modern electric power industry, and also takes into account the trend of development of the electric power industry towards increasing the role and importance of alternative and non-traditional energy
