On December 21-22, the VII Open Championship in Robotics and Innovative Technologies Techcup-2022 for the Cup of the Akim of Almaty took place.

The purpose of the competition is the development and popularization of innovative technologies, as well as the identification and support of talents among children and youth. The championship has become an excellent platform for promoting startups of future scientists and novice roboticists.

More than 700 teams from all regions of the country aged 7 to 22 took part in the championship. A professional international jury, which included specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia and the United States of America, evaluated developments in several areas - such as engineering projects, programming, business in IT, 3D modeling and robot competitions, which, in turn, are also held immediately in 4 types - VEX, sumo, line and kegelring. Judges evaluate not only the ideas of engineers, but also the capabilities of robots, the quality of task programming and the quality of robot execution.

KazNU named after al-Farabi presented a team of undergraduates of the educational program "Robotic Systems" of the Department of Mechanics of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, which included: team leader, Berik Sagitzhanov (doctoral student of the 3rd year of the educational program "Robotic Systems"), Damir Zhanabergen and Madiyar Smamkozhaev (undergraduates 1- th course of the educational program "Robotic systems").

The KazNU team became the owner of the III degree Diploma in the "Line" competition. The team competed in the creation of engineering projects and robots, as well as in programming. Each member of the KazNU team is a potential specialist who will provide a technological breakthrough that is so necessary for our country.
