On April 8, 2022, KazNU students majoring in Space Engineering and Technology participated in the final round of the international competition on space technology and technology Kazakhstan Smart Space The KazSmartSpace competition was organized by the private space company Eurasian Space Ventures (ESV), the National Center for Space Research and Technology (NCSRT), as well as the Kazakhstan Institute of Project Management (KIPM). This event was attended by teams consisting of college and university students, students of schools and circles of the additional education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation aged 7 to 22 years in teams with their teachers and mentors.

Our team acted on behalf of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. There were 5 participants, 3rd year students of the specialty Space Engineering and Technology of the Department of Mechanics. By the end of the competition 92 project teams in the following categories: Layout - 26, actual model / product / video - 24, research project - 31, and competitive - 11 project teams. We participated in the nomination of the actual model / product / video with the project "Development of small spacecraft of the CanSat format" and won the final.
