The purpose of the round table was to discuss the problems, achievements and prospects for the development of bioinformatics and neuroscience based on an integrative approach and the latest breakthroughs in computer, biological and human sciences.

The invited speaker of the round table is Professor of the University of Sharjah Rifat Akram Hamoudi, College of Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences (Sharjah, UAE).

Prof. Rifat Akram Hamoudi is a graduate of King's College London University (London, UK) and the University of Cambridge where he received his PhD in bioinformatics. The doctoral dissertation of Professor Hamoudi was devoted to the study of the molecular mechanisms of the pathogenesis of MALT-lymphoma using information technology and genetic markers of pathology.

Professor Hamoudi is a recognized world-class expert in bioinformatics, biomathematics, computational medicine, bioengineering and biomedicine. Professor Hamoudi is the permanent scientific director of large-scale international research projects funded by such well-known large charitable organizations as the Al-Jalila Foundation, Sharjah Research Academy, UK Breast Cancer Research Foundations and the Wellcome Trust.

Professor Hamoudi is the author of two international patents and more than 200 publications in authoritative high-ranking scientific publications indexed in the Scopus database, including Lancet, Science, Cell, Nature. Hirsch citation index - 48.

Professor Hamoudi has a large number of students around the world, is a member of the UK Academy of Higher Education, as well as the developer of new master's programs in genomics, bioinformatics and statistics for engineers and biomedical scientists. He developed a new strategy for online courses based on the interactive philosophy of FLIP.

Currently, the laboratory of the University of Sharjah, headed by Professor Hamoudi, is conducting a genetic analysis of biomaterials as part of the research project "EEG / MRI study of brain development, emotional-cognitive functions and their genetic markers in various age groups", funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and implemented by employees Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of KazNU under the guidance of the Head of the Department Professor A.M.Kustubaeva. Also, the staff of the department headed by Professor A.M.Kustubaeva, together with USh and Skoltech (Skolovo), participate in the international project "Building models of interpretable artificial intelligence and deep learning based on integrative data of neuroimaging and genetics for predicting abnormal emotional development", funded by the Foundation University of Sharjah.

In addition, Prof. Rifat Hamoudi is a foreign supervisor of a PhD doctoral student at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, specializing in 8D05109 - Neuroscience.
