Teachers and students of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia took part in the event of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On April 23, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the annual book festival "Kitapshow–2024", dedicated to the World Book and Copyright Day, which is celebrated by millions of people in more than a hundred countries around the world. The purpose of the festival is to increase reader activity, support interest in books and reading, arouse interest in fiction, form an information culture of the individual and a culture of reading.

Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project, teachers and students of the Department of Iranian Studies of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia also took part in this event. A literary-themed evening "Kazakhstan – Iran: harmony of cultures "Nauryznama" was held in the Art Hall, held jointly with the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty and the Iranian Cultural Center.

Mr. Mohsen Faghani, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, delivered a welcoming speech. The event featured: Director of the Iranian Cultural Center at the Consulate General of Iran in Almaty Hossein Aghazadeh, Deputy Director General of the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art T.Ye. Kydyr, Head of the Department of Iranian Studies A.Zh.Boranbayeva, senior lecturer of the Department of Iranian Studies Ph.D. G.A. Kambarbekova. Students of the Department of Iranian Studies read poems about Nauryz in Farsi.
