7 December 2018 hosted an international scientific-practical conference "Psychology in the modern world: theoretical and applied research in the context of the program "Rouhani Zhangyru", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the discovery of psychology Department in KazNU named after al-Farabi..

The conference, organized by the Department of General and Applied Psychology of KazNU, became a platform to discuss the role of psychological science in the spiritual renewal of Kazakhstan, the development of fundamental and applied research in psychology, forms of interaction of science and practice, the prospects of development of integration processes in psychological science in modern conditions, the contribution of Kazakh psychologists in the world science, the state and prospects of international cooperation, topical problems of different branches of psychology. The conference was attended by scientists, teachers, psychologists, undergraduates, doctoral students, University students, specialists in related disciplines: teachers, social workers, philosophers, cultural scientists.

Great interest in the conference showed graduates of the psychological Department of KazNU of different years, who have already reached the heights in their professional activities. For 30 years since the opening of the specialty, more than 1500 graduates (bachelor, master, doctoral) have received a start in their working life .Today KazNU, according to the Independent Agency of accreditation and rating, takes the 1st place among the Universities of Kazakhstan in the specialty "Psychology", the specialty is also accredited in the international Agency ACQUIN.

At the plenary meeting of the PhD Konrad Reschke, PhD Alena Garber from Germany, doctor of psychology. Yanchuk from the Belarusian state University, Professor of psychology of Kazakhstan N. V. Zharikbayev presented interesting reports on the fundamental and applied psychology: cultural and dialogue trends in the development of psychological knowledge, stress resistance, the contribution of psychological science and practice in the spiritual revival of the national consciousness of the people of Kazakhstan. At the breakout sessions were discussed reports on the psychological health and well-being of the individual as a factor of spiritual revival, organization and technology of psychological assistance in modern conditions, training and education of psychologists, as well as many other problems of fundamental and applied psychological research.
