The conference was held on April 27, 2017 by the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Satybaldy Mukataevich Dzhakupov graduated from the Faculty of the Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He defended his Ph.D. and doctoral dissertations on Psychology in Moscow. He was the head of the Department of Ethnic and Educational Psychology of Al-Farabi KazNU for more than 10 years. He supervised a large number of Kazakhstani psychologists: 9 Doctors of Science, 50 Candidates of Science, 5 PhD graduates, 51 MSc Psychology graduates.

More than 80 scientists and practitioners from Kazakhstan and overseas took part in the conference. The conference started with greetings from the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Doctor of Philosophy A.R. Massalimova. Different topics of theoretical and practical psychology had been addressed. The following professors took part in the conference:

In particular, Professor M.A. Perlenbetov raises the problem of the psychological health of the population in the development of the state. Prof. A.M. Kim spoke about the development of the emotional intelligence of a modern high school teacher. Prof. O.Kh. Aimaganbetova shared the results of socio-psychological research of religious orientations and preferences of Kazakhstani youth. Psychologists-practitioners emphasized the need for licensing psychological practice and having obligatory supervision. 

The winners of the 1st Dzhakupov Republican competition of research papers of undergraduates and postgraduates in the field of Psychology were announced during the plenary session. Winners were awarded cash prizes and diplomas. The purpose of the competition was the development and popularization of the scientific heritage of Professor S.M. Dzhakupov, activation of the scientific potential of students, attraction to research work. In all, 21 jobs were sent from different regions of Kazakhstan. 7 works went to the finals and won awards. Winners were awarded cash prizes and diplomas.

The first place was won by master's degree E.V. Paevskaya from ENU named after L. Gumilev (Astana), who was awarded 80,000 tenge and a diploma of the 1st degree.

The second place was shared by two students S. Bukeshov from TarSU. named after M.H. Dulati (Taraz) and M.P. Kadralieva from PSPI (Pavlodar), who received 50,000 tenge each and a diploma of the second degree.

The 3rd place was shared by Almaty students, who were awarded 20,000 tenge each and a diploma of the third degree: A. Rakhimov, A. N. Baubergen and A.E. Jeksen, D.M. Abieva from Al-Farabi KazNU, D. Kaidarov from the University of Almaty.

The following topics had been addressed during the conference: current issues of general, social and ethnic psychology; psychology of teaching and education; theoretical and applied research in clinical psychology, counseling, and occupational psychology.

As the conclusion of the conference, goals and objectives for the development of Kazakhstan's psychological science were identified.
