On the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Fascism, tens of millions of people who died during the Second World War are remembered. On September 1, 1939, the Second World War began with the Nazi invasion of Poland and ended on September 2, 1945 with the capitulation of militaristic Japan. This global tragedy has no equal in its scale, human losses and material costs. 61 states were involved in the war, more than 80% of the world's population, military operations were conducted on the territory of 40 states. During the Second World War, more than 55 million people died. The greatest casualties were suffered by the Soviet Union, which lost 27 million people. More than 75 years have passed since fascism was defeated by joint efforts, which brought numerous sufferings and millions of victims to the world.
