On April 5, 2021 at the military department of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University started the patriotic action «Defenders of the Fatherland» in online format, which is dedicated to the national day of the Defender of the Fatherland and Victory day.

During the action, there was planned a set of military-patriotic events which includes:

- Conversations dedicated to the history of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the heroes of Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War and the heroes of the present time;

- Overview and discussion of feature films and documentary films with the military subject;

- Quizzes about the military and history subjects;

- Video- conference meetings and honoring the veterans of the Armed Forces who stood at the origins of the formation of the Kazakhstan’s army;

- Creative competition called “Poems and Songs of Victory”. Also, a competition of drawings by children of the military department employees;

- Patriotic flashmob called “Songs of Victory”;

- Patriotic flashmob called “Atameken”. Congratulations by veterans and students of the military department of employees, students in all and all citizens of Kazakhstan with the day of the Defender of Fatherland;

- Patriotic action “Heirs of Victory” - with the staff of the National Center “Bobek”.

It should be noticed, that the first event is a video-conference and honoring veterans of the air defense forces of our army - retired colonels who are Rajibayeva M.Y. , Kibataeva K.M. and lieutenant colonel of the reserve - Shashatskiy A.N. At the end of the video-conference, the head of military department, the colonel of the reserve who is Azhimov O.V. and the chairman of the Public Association “Veterans of the Air Defense Forces and Air Defense of the Almaty city”, one of the first Commanders of the Air Defense Forces of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, retired Colonel who is Rajibayev M.Y. signed a memorandum on joint cooperation in military-patriotic education of students from schools and universities.
