After graduating KazGU . Al-Farabi in 1996 Zhatkanbaeva AE left to teach at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law . In 1999 he defended his thesis on " The legal framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan administrative responsibility " under the leadership of Doctor of Law, Professor Kim VA

In 2009 she defended her doctoral thesis " Theoretical problems of the constitutional and legal framework for information security in the Republic of Kazakhstan" under the direction of Doctor of Law, Professor Kim VA and Doctor of Law, Professor Kenzhalieva Z.Zh.

In 2010 she was appointed Associate Dean for Research and International Relations Faculty of Law of the KNU .

In 2012 she was appointed head of the Department of Customs , fiscal and environmental law.
