The Republican Student Olympiad on Geography and Hydrometeorology

Faculty of Geography of the Al-Farabi KazNU. and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, 15-16 March 2011 had a Republican Olympiad of Geography and Hydrometeorology (RSOGH).

The purpose of the Olympiad: the formation of knowledge on the geography of Hydrometeorology of the students and to create conditions for the disclosure of their personal potential, professional fulfillment and development of interest in scientific activities.

The work was conducted on the following thematic areas:

- Geography

- Hydrometeorology

In the competition brought together teams came from different parts of the country from various universities of our country, consisting of 3 students, students majoring in Geography and Hydrometeorology.

Olympiad was held in two phases:

- The first university stage (until 15 February 2009)

- The second republic (final) stage (15-16 March 2011)

The final stage - the intramural competition teams and students (personal credit), which included three rounds:

• first round of the "Dialogue" - a representation of the team (5-7min);

• second round - "Knowledge" - test task;

• third round of "Vision" - tasks for the overall development (oral, written).

In carrying out the outcome of the final phase of jury RSOGH revealed the winners of both the individual and in team competition. Competition winners in the individual event recognized student of our faculty. Absolute winner in the team recognized team of ENU Gumilev, scored the maximum points in the first three rounds.
