Master students of 1 and 2 courses, specialty "Oriental studies", "Foreign philology", "Translation Studies" and the teachers of the Department of Chinese Studies Faculty of Oriental Studies within the project "100 books" held a scientific seminar dedicated to the work of the famous Chinese writer Mo Yan. Adviser Group, Associate Professor A.Kenzhebaeva opened a seminar on "The relationship of the historical and artistic truth in the works of Mo Yan" (based on the analysis of the novels "Red Sorghum" and "Wine Country") with a question to the audience about the reasons for the name of Mo Yan's novel "Red Sorghum". In response, there were different opinions. The other works of the winner of the Nobel Prize Mo Yan were analized. In the discussion interactive whiteboard was used. Reading the novel "Red Sorghum" allowed undergraduates to note especially the works of art, as well as to develop a theme and novel problems. 2nd year Master student Ykylasova Ayagul noted the creative achievements of the writer, undergraduate of 1 study-year Baydauletova Nazira made a short report on the key issues of the plot of the novel "Red Sorghum". At the end of the seminar the most active graduates were awarded by certificates in the category "Future critic", "Sinologist Future", "The best reader" and others.
