On October 24, 2013 in order to use practical skills of conducting tours, which were taken during classes on the subject " Excursion studies " Department of Recreational Geography and tourism organized educational sightseeing tour of Almaty city .

The course "Excursion studies" Course takes one of the major places in tourists courses, as excursion is being of main parts of tourism business. Each tour operators conduct activity as excursion, which carrying out functions of education, forming knowledge. Therefore, it is important for tourism professionals to have a clear understanding of the training , technology implementation, developed excursions and forms of control professionals working in this area. Excursion business - an important part of cultural and educational work among the population.

Purpose of a educational tour was to introduce students with the basic techniques and methods of the tour. Students of the Department of Recreational geography and tourism took participation in the tour. The tour was conduct by lecturers of the department. During the tour students visited such sightseeing of of Almaty as a " Monument of Independence" , Abay State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, park of 28 Panfilovs’ , Kazakh Academy of Sciences and Abay squre.

During the tour, students had an opportunity to practically apply skills obtained during the course of " Excursion studies".

Department thanked the University administration for providing transportation for organization of study tour.
