Teachers and students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism participated in the I Eurasian Conference on ski resorts, organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The forum's theme "Development of new tourist destinations for Snow tourism". The participants discussed the state and prospects of development of the international market of ski tourism and sustainable development of this popular direction.

Leading experts and top managers of the famous winter recreation centers exchanged experiences of effective planning and management of ski resorts.

At the opening ceremony was attended by the General Secretary of the World Tourism Organization Mr. Taleb Rifai, akim of Almaty Mr. Esimov A., head of the Committee of Tourism Industry MINT RK Mr. Igaliev M., and other official persons.

The volunteers of Department Recreational Geography and Tourism was attended In serving foreign guests. These conference was a good training for them in language and professional sphere.
