Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the presentation of the photo album "Kazakh Literature: Photo Chronicle of 1920-1970" dedicated to the 80^th anniversary of the Central State Archive of Film, Photographic Documents and Sound Recordings.

The event was attended by Director of the Central State Archive of Documentary Film and Photo and Sound Recordings of the RK Ilyas Iskakov, Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Turkic World, poet Ulugbek Yesdaulet and poet, laureate of the State Prize Temirkhan Medetbek, state and public figures, writers, intellectuals, literary critics.

"I congratulate the Central State Archive of Documentary Film and Photo and Sound Recordings of the RK on its 80^th anniversary! The presented collection is a great relic for young people. Documentary photo play a special role in familiarizing the younger generation with the past, reviving historical consciousness. The educational program "Archival and Source Studies" at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been operating since 1991. The University holds a leading position in the training of archivists and scientists. Last year, KazNU held an international congress of archivists. Our university will continue to maintain close relations with the archive," the rector announced.       

The photo album "Kazakh Literature: Photo Chronicle" covers the period from 1920 to 1970. The album contains rare photographs of poets, writers, literary scholars, state and public figures, valuable historical documents and manuscripts stored in the fund of the Central State Archive of Documentary Film and Photo and Sound Recordings of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It also includes photo documents of representatives of the national intelligentsia: Akhmet Baitursynov, Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Mirzhakyp Dulatov, Saken Seifullin, etc.
