KAZNU AND CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY: NEW HORIZONS OF COOPERATION

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and representatives of Cambridge University plan to develop cooperation in the field of science and education. Dr. Siddharth S. Saxena, a senior researcher at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, and Chokan Laumulin, a graduate of KazNU who defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Cambridge, paid an official visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Cavendish Laboratory, in which 30 researchers have received Nobel Prizes to date, is the world's first educational and scientific laboratory where students can acquire academic knowledge and conduct applied scientific research.

During the meeting, the parties expressed interest in further bilateral cooperation, discussed priority areas of partnership in educational activities and the implementation of joint scientific research. The prospect of formation of network of scientific laboratories between universities that will conduct not only basic research, but also provide certain services to the industry of Kazakhstan were discussed.

In accordance with QS ranking, Cambridge University is one of the best universities in the world, which is one of the top five universities in the world. Moreover, 130 researchers of the university are awarded Nobel Prize.
