International accreditation is carried out at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University by the independent accreditation agency IAAR. The accreditation procedure for the External Expert Commission (EEC) took place in November and early December in a hybrid format in two stages.

As the Head of the KazNU Accreditation and Licensing Service Gulden Manarbek noted, following the results of the first visit of the EEC (November 23-25), accreditation of educational programs of the faculties of international relations, philosophy and political science and the faculty of law was carried out. Negotiations of EEC members with vice-rectors and heads of structural divisions of the university were held, as well as meetings with students, teachers, employers and graduates of accredited educational programs were organized.

During the visit, the commission members got acquainted with the work of the Al-Farabi Library, the Keremet Student Service Center, the Situational Management Center, as well as the Faculties of International Relations, Philosophy and Political Science and the Faculty of Law.

During the second stage of the EEC accreditation procedure, which took place from 2 to 4 December, the educational programs of the Faculties of Philology, Oriental Studies, Medicine and Health and the Faculty of Law were checked. As part of the procedure, the experts visited the practice bases of educational programs, including Ernst & Young LLP, the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, the Laoshi Center for Chinese Studies, the Public Association of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Forensic Science Institute, the Police Department and the DGD of Almaty , as well as PF “Center for Social and Political Research“ Strategy ”, RIPKSO“ Orleu ”, Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Center for Contemporary China Research, Institute of Linguistics named after A. Baitursynov Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O .Auezov MES RK, Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, British Center: Language and Culture at the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi KazNU and many others.

At the end of the visit, a final meeting of the expert commission with deans, deputy deans and heads of departments was held with the participation of vice-rectors of the university.

It should be noted that International accreditation is a procedure for assessing the compliance of educational programs with international and European quality standards, the purpose of which is to ensure quality.

The accreditation procedure at the Al-Farabi KazNU will make it possible to qualitatively assess the level of activities and educational programs being implemented, improve the image and strengthen competitive positions in the national and international market of educational services.
