Presentation of the 15-volume collection «FARABI» was held at the Al-Farabi Scientific Center of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by well-known public figures and intellectuals, poets and writers, and library readers and media representatives.

The famous writer and playwright Rolland Seisenbaev highlighted in his welcoming speech the importance of studying the heritage of the great thinker and thanked for the help in preparing the books for publication. «Al-Farabi’s philosophical tracts are not easy to understand, therefore we have made them convenient for young readers and students. If you read the book of the great thinker in your youth and will re-read it in old age, then you will already perceive it in a completely different way. His works are priceless and provide great knowledge to the young and rising generation», said Rolland Seisenbaev.

Murat Auezov, a Kazakhstani public figure, culturologist, honored worker of Kazakhstan, in his speech emphasized the enduring value of Al-Farabi’s works and the relevance of their rethinking in our time.

The collection was published in the framework of the 1150th anniversary of the great thinker Abu Nasr al-Farabi with the support of the Abai international club, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Literary University of the Peoples of the World.

The 15-volume edition includes the following works: «The City of Virtues», philosophical and socio-ethical tracts, «The Big Book of Music», «The Book of Science», «The Book of Mind» and «The Return of the Teacher» and others. Many of them are of particular value because they are not known to a wide audience of readers. On the eve of the anniversary year, the legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi is widely promoted around the world, and his works are published in different countries.
