The Faculty of Oriental Studies organized a musical and literary evening in the framework of the «Festival of Languages» in honor of the celebration of the «175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev».

As part of the celebration of the Day of Languages ​​in Kazakhstan, 1st year students of the Department of the Far East conducted literary and musical performances in three languages. At this festive event, our freshmen not only magnified the value and importance of each individual language, moreover, they revealed their talents and skills. The hosts of the holiday recited the winged words and verses of the great Abay by heart, thereby giving the evening a special flavor. Some students masterfully performed works on folk instruments like dombra and kobyz, others sang songs in eastern and western languages, danced modern dances. This event, combining classic and modern, has become a kind of bridge between the past and present.

One of the main objectives of the event was to identify the abilities of new students and attract them to various cultural events. «Strive to learn the language of seven peoples and seven different sciences», - said our wise ancestors. Indeed, students by learning languages can reveal new abilities.
