On January 29, 2018 in the rector's office at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held ceremony "Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan" in Almaty. Seven students of Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty of KazNU received scholarships in the amount of 100 000 tenge (700 000 tenge). Granting of scholarships from JSC "Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan" is spent almost 10 years. Thus, every year JSC "Shinhan Bank" implements the idea of ​​"Noblesse oblige" in Kazakhstan. This event raises students' interest in Korean studies, and also develops and strengthens cooperation in the field of education and science between KazNU and JSC “Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan”. Strengthening cooperation in this way makes a great contribution to the development of the KazNU and provides support to students of the Korean Studies Department. We congratulate our students-fellows and wish them to become highly qualified specialists, confident in their knowledge and their future.
