"The Chinese Bridge"

On April 14, a competition on the Chinese language 汉语 桥 - "The Chinese Bridge" was held between the universities of Almaty: al-Farabi KazNU, Abai KazNPU, KazUIR & WL, Ablai Khan University.

Venue: Department of Philosophy and Political Science, assembly hall

In the first round, the students presented a story about themselves and their work in Chinese, then answered questions from the jury.
In the 2nd round the participants showed their talents and knowledge of Chinese culture: singing, dancing, theatrical performances.

The following students of the Chinese Studies Department of the Oriental Studies Faculty of al-Farabi KazNU became winners:

1 place - Onlanova Janel (2 year-student)
3 place - Umurzakova Lyazzat, Burkhan Bayan, Azbaeva Aray (4 year-students)

In the 1st round, Onlanova Janel, presented an essay on the theme 哈 中 关系 桥梁 (Bridge of relations between Kazakhstan and China), in the second round she performed a mini-play 相声 (a genre of traditional Chinese comedy with a predominance of colloquial forms).
After taking the 1st place in the competition, the 2nd year student won a grant for study at any university in China for a period of 1 year.
The winner of the competition, Onlanova Janel, a 2nd-year student of translation studies speciality, will take part in the final round of this Olympiad at the republican level, which will take place on 24-25.04.2018 in Karaganda city.
