Meeting of geographers

A meeting was held at the Center for Earth Remote Sensing (CDSD) with specialists from the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, and colleagues from the Kazakh-German University and the Institute of Geography and Geology of the German city of Würzburg.

Director of the CDSD Bakhyr Sahariev held a presentation of the creation and perspectives of the Center, the work in the field of remote sensing and GIS carried out by the staff of our university and the development of the space industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Deputy General Director of the Center for Process Innovations (CPI) Manat Tuenbaev spoke about the tasks and production capabilities of the CPI with the video showing the planned infrastructure of the CPI and CDSD.

A researcher at the Institute of Geography and Geology in Würzburg, Zara Schoenbrodt-Stitt, presented a paper on monitoring and studying regional sustainable water management in Central Asia within the framework of the CAWa project.

An excursion was conducted along the CDSD, GIS-laboratories of the faculty of geography and environmental sciences, a mini-museum of the founders of the faculty is shown.
