Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became an absolute leader among the universities of the country by the number of grants received for education. This year more than four thousand one hundred of the best graduates of schools received a grant for education in KazNU, a major part of them have an award "Altyn belgi", winners of international and republican Olympiads.

In the history of higher education in Kazakhstan there isn’t any university, which has achieved such result as KazNU. Al-Farabi University is significantly ahead of other higher education institutions in terms of the number of grants. Such result is an evidence of a high level of trust of the society to KazNU, and it means deliberate and targeted choice of applicants.

Nowadays quality education is an important life priority for youth. This year university expected a large number of “to be students”, who gave preference to the technical and natural science specialties. Therefore, the largest competition was in specialties as radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications, information systems, automation and management, standardization, certification and metrology, biotechnology. There is a high competition for admission to the master degree and PhD studies. For certain specialties, the number of applicants exceeds 20 people per seat.
