purpose

The educational program is aimed at forming a specialist in the field of linguistics and literature studies who has developed linguistic competence; capable of carrying out effective oral and written communication in Russian with scientific organizations, state authorities and professional communities: information, advertising, consulting agencies, public relations agencies, publishing houses, other enterprises and organizations, public structures and various groups of society.

Educational outcomes

LO1 Under the guidance of the responsible executor, in accordance with approved scientific methods, plan and conduct research on language facts and the literary process using historical, socio-political, country studies, cultural knowledge and various types of linguistic and literary analysis and interpretation of the text.

LO2 Carry out historiographical analysis of scientific literature in philology on the basis of knowledge of methodological provisions of the theory of linguistics and literature studies; philosophy, history, ability to use data extracted from scientific literature, dictionaries and reference books of literary and culturological nature to present it in the form of an analytical review, using the possibilities of information and communication technologies.

LO3 To consult on the issues of linguistics and literary studies based on the knowledge of the categorical apparatus of the philological science, the main provisions in the field of theory and history of the Russian language, Russian and foreign literature, philosophy of cognition.

LO4 Compile scientific reports based on the knowledge of the scientific and terminological apparatus of modern philology, using reference literature, electronic lexicographical sources, data from the National Corps of Russian, data from electronic libraries and scientific Internet platforms, observing the requirements of information security.

LO5 To prepare annotations, abstracts, thematic reviews of scientific literature and scientific and technical documentation in Russian for printing on the basis of knowledge of the laws of production of scientific text, requirements to academic writing, using the capabilities of a text editor.

LO6 Systematize and analyze large volumes of information from different sources using modern technical means and information and communication technologies (ICT).

LO7 To carry out effective oral communication in Russian/Kazakh/English with scientific communities, state bodies and professional communities: information, advertising, consulting agencies, public relations agencies, publishing houses, other enterprises and organizations, public structures and various public groups.

LO8 Create written texts of different styles and genres (information materials, analytical reviews, responses to inquiries, official business documents, appeals, etc. to state authorities) observing orthoepic, orthographic, punctuation, lexical, grammatical, stylistic norms of the Russian literary language based on knowledge of style and culture of speech.

LO9 To correct scientific, technical, socio-political, economic literature, materials of correspondence with state authorities, domestic and foreign institutions and enterprises, as well as materials of conferences, meetings, seminars, etc. on the basis of knowledge of phonetic, lexical, word formation, morphological, syntactic and stylistic norms of the Russian language.

LO10 Educing editing of texts of different styles and genres, proofreading of edited manuscripts and reading of proofreading prints to ensure graphic and lexical uniformity of various elements of the text, elimination of factual, conceptual errors based on knowledge of the laws of text formation, poetics, interpretation, semantics.

LO11 Adjust the content of scientific, educational, informational web-sites; digital publications, online magazines in terms of content, as well as compliance with language norms.

LO12 To work in a team and multinational multicultural team, demonstrating the ability for social interaction and cooperation to solve the problems of the scientific industry, self-development and social adaptation in situations related to non-standard tasks. To be ready for correct, tolerant and productive interaction in society. Build professional relationships with colleagues and management.

Academic activities

Academic activities of the EP are carried out:

- within the framework of existing normative documents and methodological recommendations in the sphere of higher education in the humanities,

- as a result of the implementation of normative documents regulating the educational and methodological process in the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative and legal acts related to methodical work;

- The current and perspective planning of the University educational-methodical work, the coordination of the educational-methodical complex of discipline (EMCD) of the department for the conformity to the normative-legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- Monitoring of the provision of the educational process with the didactic-methodic materials, documenting of the results;

- development of educational-methodical materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum;

-academic policy and integrity rules of the university.

To prepare qualified specialists in Russian language and literature, 11 doctors of sciences and 30 candidates of sciences work.

Scientific activities

For the development of students in the department there are clubs and clubs. Club "Akkaiyn" and Ethnoclub "Russian world". Since 2008, there are 5 joint double degree programs (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD) in the department: "Russian philology", "Russian language and literature". Training is carried out jointly with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia).

The department has four Internet portals: "Atlantis", "Bachelor", "Ruslit.kz", "Methodist". 

International activities

Contacts have been established with the following universities for educational programs: PFUR (Russia), St. Petersburg State University (Russia), Mevlana (Turkey), KazNPU named after Abay.

According to the results of the rating of educational programs among higher educational institutions of RK since 2017 the educational programs of our department "Philology" (Master's and Doctoral studies) and "Russian language and literature" (Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral studies) take 1 place according to the rating of the Independent Agency of Accreditation and Rating (IAAR). The Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IAQA) awarded the specialty "Russian language and literature" 1st place for the Master's degree and 2nd place for the Bachelor's degree.
