1.1 Purpose and mission of the EP

The purpose of the EP is to train qualified specialists who have General cultural and professional competencies and fundamental basic knowledge in the field of customs affairs, who are able to manage the movement of goods across the customs border, ensure law and order in the customs sphere, who are able to perform the functions of customs officials, specialists and experts in the field of professional activity.

The mission of the EP is to prepare bachelors with fundamental basic knowledge in the field of customs that meets the requirements of modern professional standards.

1.3 Description of the benefits and features of the EP in terms of positioning in the educational market

The educational program in the specialty "Customs affairs" is accredited by the world customs organization (April 2019) and meets international professional standards adopted by the WCO and the EU.

EP is one of the best educational programs in Kazakhstan in the field of "Customs affairs" in terms of demand for graduates in the labor market, the number of winners and prize-winners of Olympiads, the average UNT (Unified National Testing) score. According to the results of the NAAR and NCAOKA rating, the educational program "Customs affairs" takes the first place in Kazakhstan in 2017, 2018, 2019.

To implement the educational program the faculty has the following laboratories and research centers:

1 Center for the fight against crime;

2 Research Center "Legal support for innovative development of Kazakhstan»;

3 Center for environmental safety and environmental law;

5 Research and consulting legal center "Nurly Zhol - Silk Road".

- State revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- Departments of state revenue of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan for regions; Almaty, Shymkent and the capital;

- Department of economic investigations in Almaty of the financial monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- Customs and tax authorities;

- Non-governmental organizations and enterprises.

Personnel potential. The teaching staff of 128 people is concentrated in four departments. The faculty consists of well-known scientists: 29 doctors of law, 50 candidates of law and 15 doctors of PhD. Among them are 21 winners of the grant "Best University teacher", 10 winners of the state scientific scholarship for talented young scientists, and 8 winners of state awards. Teaching is also provided by foreign professors and practitioners, including law enforcement officers and state revenue service employees.

The learning process is carried out in three languages, using the latest educational technologies. Students actively participate and achieve success in the most prestigious international competitions and Olympiads. The teaching uses the best modern educational methods, including game trials, business games, trainings, as well as a combination of individual and teamwork. Regardless of the form of study, students have the opportunity to receive various types of scholarships. Students have the opportunity to engage in scientific activities within the framework of scientific schools (problems of the state revenue service, problems of customs and transport logistics, problems of customs and tariff regulation, etc.), research projects funded by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan; implementing scientific projects, participating in scientific conferences with reports and publishing in scientific journals.

Academic mobility. Students of the specialty "Customs affairs" have the opportunity to travel on academic mobility to leading universities in the world, such as: Riga technical University (Republic of Latvia), Higher school of Economics (Russian Federation), Altai Academy of Economics and law (Russian Federation), Institute of international law and Economics named after A. S. Griboyedov (Russian Federation); Kyrgyz state University named after Zh. Balasagun (Kyrgyzstan); Central European University (Hungary); Academy of management of the Russian Federation (Russian Federation); Eastern Institute of law (Germany); Lomonosov Moscow state University (Russian Federation), Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev (Russian Federation), Free University of Berlin (Germany); Xinjiang pedagogical University (China), etc.

The educational program in the specialty "Customs affairs" meets international standards and is accredited by the WCO in 2019. It is aimed at similar programs of foreign universities in England, the USA, Europe and Asia.
