On November 26, 2021, the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of Philological Faculty of Al Farabi Kazakh National University held an international scientific and educational conference “The process of modernization and development of Kazakh translation studies and comparative studies in the period of independence”.
On October 31, 2021 the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU and the club of young translators “TARZHIMAN club” held an evening dedicated to the International Day of the Translator “Translator is an honorable profession” within the framework of the 30th anniversary of independence.
On June 2, 2021, the laboratory “Sociolinguistics, Theory and Practice of Translation” of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation with the support of KAZPRYAL (Kazakhstani Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature), the Academy of Children’s Books “Altair”, the scientific and educational project “Epoch and Personality” held a round table called “What ancient manuscripts are silent about”, dedicated to the outstanding turkologist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Altay Sarsenovich Amanzholov.
Competition of poetic translation based on Zh. Zhabayev's poems
On April 30, 2021, Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the "TARZHIMAN" club of young translators organized a poetry translation contest "Zhuz Zhasagan Zhurekten", dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev. The competition was attended by students of 1-2 courses, studying in the specialties "Translation Studies" and "Foreign Philology".
Faculty of Philology, Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies and the 3rd year students of the specialty “Translation Studies” organized an online event “Nauryz - the great holiday of the Kazakh people”. Department teachers Meruyert Ongarbayeva, Adiliya Alimbayeva took part and warmly assessed the students' work.

On March 17,2021, at the Faculty of Philology on the Zoom platform, teacher R.Torekhanova organized the event “IELTS exam” within the framework of the project “Ainalandy nurlandyr”among 2nd-year students. The students discussed IELTS. “Education is a human’s treasure”, that’s why students are inspired and motivated to new challenges. “Another language means another view to the world”, and IELTS exam is a new goal for students!
