For the purpose of partnership for sustainable development at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, on November 10, 2023, visiting professor of the Institute of Asian Studies of KazNU Kim Chang Jin, professor of Songonghwe University, Faculty of Social Sciences, gave a special lecture for 3rd-4th year students and 1st and 2nd year graduate students of the Korean department, Department of the Far East. In this lecture, the feature film “Once Upon a Time in Spring” directed by Ho Jin Ho, which won the hearts of many Korean and foreign viewers at the beginning of the 21st century, was reviewed and analyzed. After listening to the professor’s analysis, undergraduates and students who had watched the film in advance shared their impressions. The film portrays an image of love that blooms in the spring and changes every year. The painting reflects Korean society, culture and family values of the Korean people. At the end of the lecture, questions and answers were exchanged with students; the topic was widely discussed and showed very high interest among students and undergraduates.
