Republic Day: the revival of the holiday and global trends

Republic Day is a significant day that marked the beginning of the declaration of independence of our country. It was on this day, October 25, that the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan was adopted. Since this year, Republic Day has again received the status of a national holiday. In connection with this significant day in the history of the country, the Day of the Republic, the adviser of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies, PhD, Associate Professor G. S. Bedelova and 3rd year students of the specialty "Library Information Systems " on October 21, 2022 at 14.00 h. The event "Republic Day: the revival of the holiday and global trends" was held. The purpose of the event: to determine the significance of October 25 – the Day of the Republic, which was deleted from the calendar as a holiday for 13 years and is regaining official status this year, to exchange views on how and on what scale it should be celebrated. Issues discussed during the exchange of views: the revival of the "Republic Day" holiday; the reasons for forgetting the holiday; the celebration of Republic Day in other countries; the importance of celebrating Republic Day. An open exchange of views was held at a good level, the opinions of young people were listened to. Thoughts were expressed that October 25 is not just a holiday, it is a day that should be symbolically significant, it should symbolize our integrity, territorial inviolability, Republic Day should become a symbol of the country's historic step towards building a state.
