December 10, 2018 was held an educational hour on the theme "Independent Kazakhstan Press: Past and Present" organized by first-year students and sophomores of the Faculty of Journalism.

As part of the educational hour in the history of the Kazakh press, were voiced various opinions and achievements were demonstrated that the Kazakh press appeared at the end of the 19th century and was in general condition in national newspapers and magazines that went through various stages of historical development.

Students were interested in the history of independent publications of independent Kazakhstan, they read, sang songs and demonstrated their skills. Undergraduates working in various areas of the Kazakh media were informed about their experience and advised by future specialists. RimmaZhaksylykbaeva, acting professor of the department of press and electronic media, was the head of the event. The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism SagatbekMedeubekovich, who is the guest of honor of educational hour, expressed his gratitude to the students for their aspirations and wished them success.
