A student of the Department of the Far East under the program "FY 2018 METI Japan Internship Program, Technical Cooperation & Emerging Market Development Program" organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), had an internship in Tokyo in the company Chiyoda Technol Corporation (株式会社 田 田 テ ク ノ ル). This trading company carries out its activities in the field of nuclear energy and is engaged in the production of special equipment for use in this industry. Basically, the company performs the role of a business intermediary between the customer-customer of the product and the manufacturing company.

Translation activities, organization of business meetings, teaching English and Russian languages, daily morning meetings allowed students to understand the specifics of Japanese organizational culture, as well as to demonstrate the level of their training in the specialty “Translation Studies”.

This internship program was funded by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), which provides an opportunity for our students to find employment in Japanese companies after graduation. The company notes that students of the Kazakh National University are easily selected, both in terms of Japanese language skill and the rest of the criteria set by the organization during fellows choice.

“I would like to note that participation in this internship contributed to expanding my horizons and understanding the culture of the Japanese company at a completely different level. The practice of Japanese and English, acquaintance and communication with educated people of different ages, having an individual circle of interests - all this helped me to learn the ways to self-development and improvement of my skills, and through me contributed to the advancement in research relations between Kazakhstan and Japan ”, - says Osmanova Muhabbat.
