UZBEK BEKSULTAN BERIKOVICH, a 3rd year student of our faculty, actively engaged in social work, was awarded a scholarship named after Nurpeis Kenes Nurpeisovich, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, appointed by the Department of History of Kazakhstan for social support of students. Congratulations!

Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Karazhan Kuanyshbek Suleimenov, who has worked at our university all his life, was awarded the Al-Farabi Silver Medal by the university. Congratulations!

On March 3, 2022, from 11.30 to 12.30 in the 422 audience of the Faculty of History in group 301, 3 courses of the specialty "scientific history", under the guidance of group adviser S. Smagulov, an event was held dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's accession to the UN. The report on this issue was presented by the advisor of the group S. Smagulov. The students then asked questions, commented and discussed. Particular attention was paid to the important role of the United Nations in maintaining peace in today's challenging world.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of History, Department of History of Kazakhstan on February 24, 2022, held a republican scientific and practical conference "Actual issues of the history of the Fatherland during the period of independence", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Kuanyshbek Suleimenovich Karazhan. The purpose of the conference is a thorough study of the contribution of the hero of the day to the development of national historical science and historiography, discussion of topical problems of national history at the present stage. During the conference, the life and scientific activities of Professor Kuanyshbek Suleymenovich, the memoirs of his contemporaries and students, the contribution of the scientist to the development of national historical science and historiography were discussed. In addition, the conclusions of scientific research on political, cultural and socio-economic issues of national history were analyzed. The conference was attended by leading Russian historians and young researchers, social scientists, representatives of state and public organizations, and the media.

February 22 at 12:00 pm at the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi KazNU, a meeting will be held on the topic "How to distinguish financial pyramids from real market opportunities." Speaker of the meeting Kairat Zhumabekovich Turmagambetov, who in different years served as the founder and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Financial Consulting LLP, Member of the Board - Managing Director for Business Development of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (2016-2020), Deputy Chairman of the Board of Nurbank JSC (2013- 2016).

The meeting on this day took place with veterans of the Afghan war. The topic of the students' meeting was important questions about the war and its troubles, about the tranquility and high cost of peaceful life, about how an example of patriotism among young people is being held in our homeland, about the events on patriotic education of young people.

During the meeting, the college students were told about the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and about their arrival to study at this educational institution.

The meeting was attended by police officers of the Department of the State Security Service of the Internal Affairs Bodies.

At this meeting, I had a conversation with steel voters about the war in Afghanistan and the participation of Kazakhstanis in it. At this meeting, I told about the horrors and carnage of the Afghan war, about human and technical losses and bloody events, about prisoners and missing persons.

Questions about the condition of veterans of the Afghan war and their contribution to national patriotism were also considered.

Exhaustive answers were given to the questions of police officers about the heroism and losses of Kazakhstanis in the Afghan war.

In conclusion, I invited young policemen to enroll in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and get an education.
