As part of the teaching practice of 1st year master students of the specialty "Mechanics and Energy", an open lesson was held for 2nd-year undergraduate students of the specialty "Mechanics" on the topic "Preservation of land ecosystems." A successful event was organized together with adviser Alibaeva Karlygash and with students to plant seedlings of 4 species (chestnut, catalpa, hibiscus, thuja) on the territory of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.

04.04.2024 the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi alemi" was held, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University.

The section "Mathematical modeling and computational mathematics" featured reports on the theoretical, practical and applied nature of scientific discoveries in various fields of science.

On the eve of the Day of Science Workers, professors of the Department of Mechanics Alibay Iskabaevich Iskakbaev and Kenes Bazhkenovich Dzhakupov received congratulations from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. We also congratulate our scientists on their holiday!

From April 8 to April 20, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Olivier Botella from the University of Lorraine (France) is visiting the Department of Mechanics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In the framework of a double-diploma master’s program between our two universities, he is delivering lectures to first-year master students (M1) specializing in “7M05405 – Mechanics and Energy”. The lectures are conducted offline and in English, in the disciplines of Numerical Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Next year, selected students will have the opportunity to continue in second year of Master (М2) in France with the support of the Abaï-Verne scholarship program.

60 projects took part in the competition of innovative projects of Student Business Incubators, held at KazNU on April 05-11, 2024. According to the results of the competition, the project “Autonomous robot that collects and regulates garbage or other objects” was recognized as the best, and 1st year doctoral student in the specialty “Robotic Systems” Rahmatulla Zangar received a cash prize in the amount of 150,000 tenge and was awarded a special diploma. We congratulate the project leader, teacher of the Department of Mechanics Sagitzhanov Berik and Rakhmatulla Zangar on their victory.

We congratulate Karlina Elizaveta, a student of the 4th year of the specialty "Mechanics", who took 3rd place at the plenary session of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Mir Farabi" and her scientific supervisor, Professor Belyaev Yerzhan Kelesovich!

On April 10, 2024, the delegation of Al-Farabi KazNU, consisting of the director of the scientific and educational center "Digital Technologies and Robotics", academician Zh.Zh. Baygunchekov. and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Doszhan N.S. visited the Institute of Automation of the Shandong Academy of Sciences (SDIA) and Qilu University of Technology, Jinan, China. As part of this visit, the opening ceremony of the joint laboratory "Joint laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Research" was held and a cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Electronics, Electrical and Control Engineering from Qilu University of technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Al-Farabi KazNU. It is planned that this laboratory will operate both in China and within the walls of our university. As part of the research work of this laboratory, it is planned to submit applications for funding of joint scientific projects to government

On April 5, young scientists from our department took part in a meeting with the rector. On the eve of Scientists Day, acting Director of the Department of Science and Innovation Margulan Ibraimov made a report at a meeting of young scientists of our university. 

Master students of the 1st year of the educational programme "7M05404 - Mechanics" Alakova A.S., Baizakova A.M., Zhumabaeva T.A. held an open event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Vasily Antonovich Sapa on the theme "The centenary of Vasily Antonovich Sapa: Life marked by time".

The faculty and students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics were invited to the event.
