Our pride is Paragulgova Madina

Madina Paragulgova, 1st year student of the Department of Near East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU, the silver medalist of the World Judo Championship among juniors, took 3rd place at the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was held on December 18-21, 2020 in the city of Aktau. We would like to note that this competition is Madina's first championship among adults.

In an interview with Olympic.kz, the athlete said: “My main goal at the Kazakhstan Championship among adults was to win. This is my first time participating in a women's competition. So it was difficult for me to fight mentally, especially in the semifinals. I think I had little experience. During quarantine, we did not stop training at home, we worked only on physical indicators. I performed only twice a year: I took 1st place in the national championship among youth and 3rd place in the championship among women. In the future I will go in for sports among adults. It gives me strength, ” she commented.

Paragulgova Madina is a student of translation studies at the Department of Middle East and South Asia. Madina is currently taking part in a joint training camp between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Tashkent.

We sincerely congratulate Madina Paragulgova on her victory and wish her every success in the upcoming competitions!
