On January 30, 2021, a ceremony dedicated to the day of memory of Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian political and public figure, one of the leaders and ideologists of the Indian independence movement, was held in the Mahatma Gandhi Park in Almaty.

The solemn event was attended by associate professor, doctor of historical sciences of Al-Farabi KazNU, Erekesheva Laura Gibratovna, head of the Department of Indology of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Tairova Dilnaz Nurlanovna, director of the Center for Indian Classical Dance and Yoga in Almaty Kainazarova Akmaral, President of the Indian Trade Chambers (InCham) Dr. Sohel Mohammad, teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU, as well as representatives and directors of Indian companies in Almaty and many other people interested in India.

The annual Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Day meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, which gave all participants the opportunity to have a good time.
