The Faculty of Oriental Studies celebrated the International Day of the Hindi Language

On January 15, 2021, the Department of Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated the "International Day of the Hindi Language".

The meeting was attended by Deputy Dean for teaching and educational work Kanafyeva Sh.E., Deputy Dean for Scientific, Innovative and International Relations Gabdullin K.T., Head of the Department Suleimenov P.M., as well as teachers of the Indian department Iskakova Z.E., Tairova D.N. and students. The guests of the event were the director of the Indian Cultural Center Swami Vivekananda Mr. Sanjai Garg, President of the Chamber of Commerce of India (incham), Dr. Sohel Mohammad, and Indian businessmen of Kazakhstan. As part of the celebration of the International Day of the Hindi Language, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of India in Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized a poetry contest and a quiz. The festive event was attended not only by students of the Indian department of our faculty, but also by young people who studied in India in various specialties, as well as Indian lovers studying Hindi at the Indian Embassy.

The Department of Middle East and South Asia received more than 300 books in Hindi as a gift from the Indian Cultural Center.

The festive event was held on the basis of free thought. Representatives and enterprising citizens working at the Indian Embassy expressed their appreciation to the organizers, teachers and students for such love and respect for India and the Hindi language.
