A round table on "Gender equality in the context of Islam" was held

On April 08, 2024, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project, the gender equality point, the adviser of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia, A.Ye. Zhumadilova, held a round table on "Gender equality in the context of Islam" for the 2nd year of the specialty "Oriental Studies" and the 1st year of the specialty "Islamic Studies". The round table discussed issues such as the position of women in the world before the advent of Islam, the concept of Islamic feminism, legal issues, financial rights of women, the current situation of women in various Islamic countries, etc. The students discussed the situation of women in Kazakhstan, expressed their civic point of view on the Beshimbayev case, and offered solutions to some problems regarding gender equality.
