On May 24, 2023, the Vice Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Wahid Haddadi, visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU. The distinguished guest was accompanied by Vice-President of the Center for International Scientific Cooperation Mehdi Yazdanpanah, Adviser on International Affairs Mohammad Ali Shabani, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General in Almaty Milad Samet Khairandish and Hossein Agazadeh, Attache of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty came to get acquainted with the Department of Iranian Studies Faculty of Oriental Studies Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Vice Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Wahid Haddadi got acquainted with the work of the Department of Iranian Studies of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and said that in the future he would fully support the development of Iranian Studies. Acting Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies dr.Natalya.B.Yem, Head of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia dr.D.M.Kokeeva and head of Iranian studies A.Zh.Boranbayeva spoke comprehensively about the importance of training specialists for Iranian Studies, who are the leading experts in the field of cultural and scientific relations between Kazakhstan and Iran at the present time. It is well known that graduates of the Department of Iranian Studies of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia contribute to the establishment of economic, political, literary and scientific ties between the two countries. Therefore, the actualization of the work of the department of Iranian studies of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia and the training of a new generation of specialists in Iranian studies is an urgent issue. Following the meeting, it was said that in the future support for the training of specialists in Iranian studies will be strengthened, special grants will be allocated and language courses and tours for students and teachers will be organized.
